Munitions and dual-use goods
Sweden monitors the export of munitions and dual-use goods.
Dual-use goods are goods that may be used for both civilian and military purposes. These comprise goods that can be used to manufacture nuclear, biological or chemical weapons, i.e. weapons of mass destruction.
The range of these goods is expansive and spans telecommunication equipment containing encryption, and heat cameras and processors that are operational in extremely cold or hot temperatures.
Authorisation is required
To export munitions and dual-use goods, you may need an authorisation. Swedish Customs Statutory Code for controls of strategic goods contains a list of products that are subject to export regulations. Apply for authorisation from the Inspectorate for Strategic Products (ISP). When exporting goods for nuclear operations, please apply for authorisation from the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM).
