Work Programme for the Union Customs Code

Article 280 of Regulation (EU) 952/2013 establishes that the European Commission should set up a Work Programme relating to the development and deployment of electronic systems. The Work Programme is also important for establishing transitional provisions for the electronic systems, and scheduling in cases where the systems had not been deployed by 1 May 2016.

The purpose of the Work Programme is to be a tool to support the implementation of the Union Customs Code, with regard to the development and deployment of the electronic systems.

The Work Programme establishes and describes the electronic systems, as well as their legal bases, the most important milestones and planed start dates. To ensure that the Work Programme and the Multi Annual Strategic Plan are synchronised, the Work Program should, at least, be updated annually.
