Transporting goods
When transporting goods to and from the EU, there are some things you need to know. It relates to ensuring proper customs handling.
Customs status of the goods
Goods can either have the customs status of Union goods or non-Union goods. In simple terms, Union goods are goods produced in the EU and in free circulation in the Union.
Presenting and storing goods – Import
Goods that are are imported to the customs territory of the Union, notification must be given at the time of arrival. Once you have presented your goods to the customs authority, the goods are considered to be in temporary storage.
