Export certificates

To ensure that your trade partner is eligible for preferential tariff treatment when exporting goods, you need the correct type of proof of origin. You also need to be familiar with the applicable provisions for each certificate.

Origin criteria

The GSP provisions and the EU-Japan agreement stipulate that the proof of origin should state how the goods obtained their origin. Importers importing originating goods using importer’s knowledge must also be familiar with the origin criteria of the goods.

Commodity certificate A.TR.

Commodity certificate A.TR is issued by the exporting customs authority in the context of trade between the EU and Turkey of goods included in the scope of the Customs Union agreement.

Exports for processing or repairs within the framework of the EU’s General Scheme of Preferences (GSP)

If you are exporting goods that originate in the EU which are intended for processing or refinement in a developing country, use a statement on origin in cases where the buyer needs to certify the origin of the goods.

Duplicates of commodity certificates

In some cases, if you lose your commodity certificate, you may request a copy.

Re-consignments using replacement certificates of origin

You can make out replacement proofs of origin to re-consign goods originating in GSP States, which are to be re-consigned within the EU, to Norway or to Switzerland. Goods originating in other countries with which the EU has trade agreements may be re-consigned within the EU.

Value thresholds on declarations of origin

Value thresholds apply to declarations of origin on invoices and other commercial documents.
