Why does Swedish Customs process your personal data?
Swedish Customs must check that postal, courier and freight consignments do not contain goods subject to an import prohibition or import regulations. If this is the case, the import conditions must be met and the reporting obligation fulfilled. Swedish Customs must document the inspections. Your personal data is processed to document the inspections.
Legal basis and purpose
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is Swedish Customs’ exercise of authority. The processing of personal data takes place for the purpose that Swedish Customs will be able to document the inspection of your consignment.
Removal
Removal of the data takes place automatically no later than six years after the end of the calendar year that the data was processed in the database for the first time.
Right to information, correction, deletion and limitation

You can request a copy of the data you would like to see and verify the information we have about you. The copy is free of charge.
Right to correction
If data is incorrect, you can contact Swedish Customs and request that we correct incorrect data. This also means that you have the right to supplement the personal data that is missing and is important with regard to the purpose of the personal data processing.
Right to deletion (right to be forgotten)
You have the right to request that we delete your personal data in the cases the information about you is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. However, there may be legal obligations for Swedish Customs that prevent us from deleting information about you. In these cases, the information that Swedish Customs is obliged to save is blocked so that it cannot be used for purposes other than to meet the legal obligations.
Right to restrict the processing
You have the right to limit the processing of your personal data. Restriction means that the data is marked so that it may only be processed for certain delimited purposes in the future. The right to restriction applies, among other things, when you believe the information is incorrect and have requested correction. In such cases, you can also request that the processing of the data be restricted during the time that Swedish Customs investigates if the information is correct or not.
Right to file complaint
If you believe that Swedish Customs is processing your data in an incorrect manner, you should primarily contact Swedish Customs. You also have the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority, i.e. the Swedish Data Protection Authority.
