Authorisation for an electronic transport document as a customs declaration, shipping companies
Under certain circumstances, shipping companies may use an electronic transport document as a transit declaration. To use this simplification, you need an authorisation.
Authorisation code: ETD
Swedish Customs currently does not support electronic transport documents.
This simplification only works for maritime transports within the EU (Union transit). You apply for the authorisation in one country, but the application may include ports in several countries. Given that maritime transport is considered a safe means of transport, you are not required to place a guarantee for this transit.
Who is eligible to be authorised?
- The company must have an EORI number.

What happens once you are authorised?
Any terms that apply to your company are provided in the authorisation. This includes the following information:
- The authorisation is only valid for the economic operator that is indicated as the holder of the authorisation. The holder should fulfil any obligations that follow from the authorisation.
